Harrow: The Blighted Plane is a crystalpunk fantasy setting that takes place four hundred years after a massive cataclysm changed every aspect of their high fantasy world beyond recognition. In Harrow, you’ll join the ranks of the survivors of the fall, the generations of people who have marched forward with a will to overcome the constantly changing adversities of the plane to build a life for themselves in the chaotic landscape left behind. 

During your travels and gathering trips, you’ll discover structures and relics left behind by the Kitarya Dynasty—the beings that once ruled Harrow and who were ultimately responsible for its fall. Beyond the ethereal architecture and hubristic statues that often mark their sites, there are powerful devices and technologies buried within the remains of their domed laboratories and towering obelisks waiting to be discovered. And if the rumors that occasionally reach the far drifts are right, you may even uncover one of their hidden refuges in the farthest reaches of the plane. 

Outside of the boundaries of the Four Nations, you’ll travel to countless landmasses that bloom from the watersands. Some, like the verdant Great Oasis or radiant Lucent Wastes, are staples of the plane that may be filled with adapting creatures or mutating energies, but remain a static presence on the maps of gatherers. 

Others are islands that rise from the depths of the watersands for a few hours, weeks, or decades—no one can be certain. These risen islands are often smaller versions of what gatherers can expect from traveling the Great Oasis or Lucent Wastes, but others can dredge up and deliver portions of Harrow’s past kept pristine and preserved by unknown forces, or even alien environments and creatures torn from far beyond the Blighted Plane. All of these and more are waiting for you to explore.
