Otherworldly Patron: The Lady Moontide

She’s a being rife with ambition, acuity, and high expectations. It’s the last quality that those under her patronage should be most concerned with.”

Solomon Reiss, The Givers of Gifts: A Warlock’s Codex.

Your patron is The Lady Moontide, a statuesque and strategic demigoddess known for her confidence, charm, and ambition. Also called the Moonlit Woman or the Lord of Silver Waters, The Lady Moontide once served at the gods’ pleasure, advising in matters of war and filling their halls with spirited wit and rakish humor. But after years of hearing the praise of her creators and answering the prayers of captains at sea, The Lady Moontide decided that it was time to ascend to her rightful position among the true gods.

She began planning and working to realize her goals, but when the gods discovered what she was doing they grew enraged. They saw her ambition as a betrayal of the power and trust they had given her and so they convened to determine her punishment. Using her talents for persuasion and strategy, The Lady Moontide convinced the gods that to destroy her would be a waste of both their creation and of what she might provide them in the future. So instead they turned her into beams of moonlight, forever bathing the oceans she loves and tethered to the cycles of her namesake. She was allowed to assume her true form only on the full moon, to return to her service of the gods, and to quietly make her plans for the future.

The Lady Moontide expects her followers to be ever-ready to execute her plans, whether worldly or ethereal, at a moment’s notice. As an accomplished warrior and diplomat, she only accepts those into her patronage fit to those tasks, and she calls for her warlocks to make bold decisions and take positions of leadership. While not in her true form, she speaks to her agents through flickers of moonlight and the pulls of the tides, and trusts they’ll use their gut instincts to determine her message.

The Lady’s Conscript

At 1st level, your patron grants you with the tools necessary for your service to her. You gain proficiency with martial weapons, Vehicles (water), as well as the Persuasion skill.

Additionally, when you are wielding a weapon with the finesse property that you are proficient in, it becomes silvered and deals an additional 1d4 radiant damage.

Luminescent Shield

Starting at 6th level, you can bathe yourself in your patron’s presence. As an action, you surround yourself in dazzling moonlight for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier. During this time, any creature attempting to target you with an attack must make a successful Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be blinded and automatically miss with their attack.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Courtly Training

Starting at 10th level, the Lady Moontide expands your wit and savvy. When you finish a short or long rest, you may choose two of your skill proficiencies, or one of your tool proficiencies, and double your proficiency in the chosen skills or tool until you choose new ones with this feature.

Tidal Vengence

Starting at 14th level, you use your patron’s power over the tides as your own. When you hit a creature with an attack, a tidal wave crashes into the creature and each other creature of your choice within 30 ft. of it, dealing 4d8 + your Charisma modifier in radiant damage and shoving them 15 ft. in a direction of your choice.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
