Kirin studied the marks on the walls carefully, letting the pads of her fingers trace over each esoteric rune. They were here alright. Although the fence had been speaking quickly to save his own skin, at least he had been speaking truthfully of the cult’s location in the city. She did seem to have that effect on people, even before interrogations properly began. And as he had said, any religion is bad for business. Kirin briefly held her hand over her symbol as she repeated her mantra; guard the word, guard the house, guard the flock. It wouldn’t matter where in these waterworks the cultists had hidden their iniquities away.
No secrets would be kept from her tonight.
