Featured Freelancers

We may be a lean crew of three here in The Underground, but through the support of our members, we have had the privilege of consistently working with some incredible freelancers who have been instrumental in capturing our vision and bringing our titles to life.

Featured Artist: Alex Pushkarev

Alex loves to venture into the imaginary and bring back a painting or two. For almost 10 years he's been doing artwork for books, tabletop games and videogames, while also reading and playing all three in equal measure (or maybe a bit too much ☺). He enjoys constructing all kinds of impossible creatures, contraptions and concepts, figuring out how they look and function. Some of his inspirations are Graig Mullins, Ralph Horsley, Moebuis, as well as Don Bluth and Studio Ghibli movies.

Featured Graphic Designer: Chris Hopper

Chris Hopper's layouts have appeared in over 30 DMsGuild titles and nearly a dozen kickstarters, including Underground Oracle's Under the Harvest Moons and Cypher Shorts. His writing has been featured in DMsGuild bestsellers like Amarune's Almanac, Kickstarters like Comets & Cockpits, MCDM's Flee Mortals, and Neverending Inc's Anansi's Tapestry of Lives.  When not imagining exciting adventures or creating horrifying monsters, he does accessibility consulting for Arcadia Magazine and other TTRPG projects. During rare moments not behind the keyboard, Chris can be found tending a hobby farm outside Austin, TX.

South African based artist Tasca Skelton officially began her freelancing career as a digital artist with Underground Oracle publishing in 2022, but has been honing her skills in digital art for over a decade. When she is not absorbed in her art, Tasca loves writing up epic medieval worlds, the occasional knitting, cat petting, and getting lost in fantasy novels.

Featured Artist: Toby Blanchard

Toby Blanchard, who is currently writing in the third person and feeling rather foolish about it, has been an illustrator and comic book artist for over 30 years. Toby has been doing illustrations in various capacities for Underground Oracle for over two years and hopes to be doing more well into the future. Toby resides in Australia with his wife, kid, and two rather aloof cats.
