About Us

Meet the Team

Underground Oracle Publishing is currently a small crew devoted to delivering high-quality supplements packed with lore and art that inspire and delight the tabletop roleplaying community that they love.

Jess Pendley | Co-owner and Managing Editor

Jess Pendley lives and breathes ttrpgs and is very proud that she’s managed to trick people into letting her obsess about them as a career. Beyond acting as Underground Oracle’s managing editor, Jess takes on the duties of head writer and project director for their products and acts as the UO community manager. Outside of her work on Underground Oracle’s products, she’s done writing and design work for Dwarven Forge and Crucible Magazine projects, co-led Dark Reflections on the DMsGuild, and is the community manager for the Rising Tide ttrpg community.

Keith Pendley | Co-owner and Creative Director

Keith Pendley has been submerged in the worlds of ttrpgs and setting creation for over 20 years and has no plans to emerge any time soon. A consummate storyteller and creator of paracosms, in addition to writing and design, Keith heads the art direction for Underground Oracle and acts as the official in-house GM for the UO production team. Outside of his work on Underground Oracle’s products, he’s done writing and design for Dwarven Forge, Crucible Magazine, and various DMsGuild titles.

Kayla Bayens | General Manager

Kayla Bayens has always been a dreamer but found a way to channel that with TTRPGs decades ago. As the General Manager of Underground Oracle, she takes on the duties of writer, designer, project manager, and multi-armed octopus for any needs. Outside of her work on Underground Oracle’s products she writes, designs, and produces as a freelancer and on her own products; runs a book podcast and community, has started an actual play channel called Paracosm Entertainment, co-led Dark Reflections on the DMs Guild, and runs her own DM Dalliance’s Substack community.
